Matteo Spiazzi – brief résumé
Matteo is a graduate of the Accademia d’Arte Drammatica “Nico Pepe” (Udine, 2010) 
where he studied under Maurice Schmidt, Elena Bucci , Toni Cafiero , Arturo Cirillo, 
François Kahn, Pierre Byland , Renato Gatto, Giuliano Bonanni , Marco Manchisi, 
Paola Bigatto .
He has worked as an actor and director/drama teacher in Italy and abroad, participating 
in international festivals such as Mittelfest 2010 (IT) and Podium 2009 (RUS).
He is a one of the founders of the Theaomai (Theatre, University , city) project with the 
University of Verona. 
He has been selected for the laboratory of C. Tolcachir (Venice Biennale, 2012). 
He works closely with many cultural initiatives within Verona, such as the Literary Society 
and the Circolo dei Lettori , Audiovisual Center of the Public Library. 
In 2013 he worked as the assistant director of Nicola Zorzi for the opera "Macbeth" 
by Giuseppe Verdi at the Marrucino Theater (Chieti).
After studying under the great masters of the Commedia dell'Arte including Carlo Boso, 
Mario Gonzalez , Claudio de Maglio and Alessio Nardin, he has specialized in Commedia dell'Arte
as an actor, director and teacher. He has held workshops at the Universidad Central de Quito 
in Ecuador in collaboration with the Italian Embassy, with the State University of Minsk and 
with the National Academy of Dramatic Art in Minsk (Belarus) in collaboration with 
the Italian Embassy. Matteo has taken part in Histeria Ethno Festival in Slovenia (2012, 2013) 
and has conducted a mask-work workshop at the Jungenzentrum, Vienna (A) in January 2014. 
He has directed several canovacci of Commedia dell'Arte in Italian, English, German, Slovenian
and Russian/Belarusian.

He is currently engaged in the National Academic theater “Gorky” in Minsk, 
where he will direct a original canovaccio of Commedia dell'Arte, who will 
enter the repertoire of the theater. The project is supported of Italian Embassy.
